Community Rounds: Care In Every Round, Impact In Every Community
6 weeks. 34 events. 1,350 colleagues. 2,000 hours volunteered. And that's just the beginning.
Inspired by the healthcare workers who make their rounds day in and day out, Covista colleagues came together for six weeks of service this summer to kickstart Community Rounds, our year-round volunteer program. Across our offices and campuses worldwide, we ignited our teams’ passion to show up in their communities, remove barriers for students and support the healthcare workforce. Together, we:
- Packed 7,500 care kits for students.
- Assembled 800 disaster relief kits for children and families.
- Recorded 150 audiobooks for hospitalized kids.
- Facilitated CPR training for 120 colleagues.
- Reached dozens of Washington, DC-area high schoolers through Kid Power Career Connections, a career fair that connects under-resourced youth with professionals.
- Trained colleagues on how to certify their pets as therapy animals for healthcare workers, in collaboration with Covista Foundation grantee, Pet Partners.
These volunteer activities support the healthcare workforce—and they also foster connection, bringing our Covista community together for a shared purpose.
Community Rounds is an integral part of Covista Open Doors, the company's multi-year commitment to build and sustain America's healthcare workforce. Covista and the Covista Foundation, an independent 501(c)(3) public charity, have together committed $10 million and 50,000 volunteer hours over the next five years. Our first Community Rounds marks early progress toward that goal.
Volunteering during Community Rounds offers colleagues a chance to connect with what motivates their work. As America's largest healthcare educator, Covista's teams are invested in addressing the healthcare workforce crisis—inspiring individuals to pursue healthcare careers, reducing the financial barriers that keep talent out and supporting healthcare workers so they have the tools to thrive in their profession. These are our "rounds"—and part of what keeps our colleagues motivated in the work they do.
