A healthcare partnership model:
SSM Health Aspiring Nurses Program
Their challenge
SSM Health faced workforce challenges common to health systems nationwide: nursing shortages across their markets, experienced nurses nearing retirement and costly reliance on contract labor. They needed a sustainable, long-term solution to strengthen their workforce and ensure consistent care across all four states they serve.
What we built together
A multi-state BSN program where students learn in SSM Health facilities, taught by a blend of Chamberlain and SSM Health faculty, using SSM Health standards. Students commit to employment in exchange for loan repayment over four years.
What it delivers
Programs like this drive down workforce costs by addressing turnover, reliance on travel nurses and recruiting expenses—while ensuring consistent, high-quality care. Graduates arrive on day one with institutional knowledge and a clear understanding of SSM Health’s standards of care. This program is designed to deliver:
students enrolled at full program scale
SSM Health-ready nurses graduating annually
states with sustainable talent pipelines
