Our alumni are delivering care and leading change from the bedside to the boardroom. Our institutions graduate 10% of the nation's nurses and 55% of our medical graduates are training in primary care shortage areas—serving communities where the need is most urgent.
Each took a different path to get here. Each is solving workforce challenges in their community. Together, our alumni are transforming healthcare.
Where our alumni are making a difference
Nearly 33,000 physicians and veterinarians are practicing in communities worldwide. Over 25,000 MD graduates are serving across the full spectrum of medicine—from primary care to specialty practice—with many addressing healthcare workforce shortages by filling critical gaps in underserved communities and rural areas with limited access to care.
Nearly 230,000 nursing degrees have been conferred at every level, from associate and bachelor's degrees preparing frontline nurses to advanced practice and doctoral programs. More than 6,600 Doctor of Nursing Practice degrees represent clinical leaders implementing evidence-based care and building nursing capacity at the point of care. Nearly 300 graduates serve as chief nursing officers across 42 states.
More than 170,000 graduate healthcare degrees conferred, which represents more than half of all degrees conferred. Nearly 40,000 degrees conferred in behavioral and public health, with graduates expanding access to behavioral health care nationwide.
