Bob Phelan

Bob Phelan serves as chief financial officer at Covista. With more than 35 years of finance and operational experience, he brings deep accounting and financial expertise to the company. As CFO, Phelan oversees all aspects of finance, including real estate and cybersecurity. Under his leadership, Covista has maintained strong operational performance while investing strategically in growth and upholding financial discipline.

Since joining Covista in February 2020, Phelan has held multiple leadership roles, including vice president and chief accounting officer, where he managed enterprise-wide accounting and reporting, SEC and regulatory filings, real estate, and strategic sourcing operations. He partnered with senior leadership to drive financial strategy and strengthen the company's financial foundation during a period of significant transformation.

Prior to Covista, Phelan spent more than 23 years in senior financial and operational leadership at Sears Holdings Corporation, most recently as senior vice president and corporate controller. He began his career at KPMG, where he spent nine years in the audit practice.

Phelan is a CPA and holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Valparaiso University and a master’s degree in finance from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
